Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has rapidly assembled a portfolio of three past-producing tungsten projects in the United States and is now shifting focus to disciplined exploration and drilling. The company's strategy, as outlined in its recent corporate update, is to validate historical mineralization with modern exploration techniques and potentially define maiden mineral resources, addressing the growing need for secure domestic critical mineral supply.
Since the end of 2025, Western Star has expanded its Nevada land position by approximately 170% at the Rowland Tungsten Property and acquired the adjacent White Star Tungsten Project, creating a six-kilometre prospective corridor. In New Mexico, the company acquired 100% of the past-producing Eagle Point Tungsten Project. These assets have historical production and government-backed exploration, providing a foundation for modern exploration programs.
At Eagle Point, historical U.S. Government estimates outlined significant near-surface tungsten mineralization, with modern USGS sampling returning up to 27.6% WO(3). The company plans to drill the historically identified zones and test extensions along strike and at depth, with the goal of advancing toward a maiden NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate. The project features eight historically mapped skarn bodies and limited historical drilling, offering significant untested potential.
Western Star's CEO, Blake Morgan, emphasized the importance of Eagle Point: "Eagle Point is an important opportunity because we are not starting from first principles. The project has historical production, historical U.S. Government exploration, multiple skarn bodies exposed at surface, historical estimates of tungsten-bearing material and modern USGS sampling that returned up to 27.6% WO(3)."
The company has engaged Dahrouge Geological Consulting to assist with technical evaluation and drill targeting. Subject to permitting and final design, Western Star targets a maiden drill program at Eagle Point during 2026. The program aims to test the principal mineralized zones, investigate grade continuity, and provide modern geological data to support potential resource estimation.
In addition to Eagle Point, Western Star is advancing Rowland toward drilling and conducting integrated exploration at White Star. The company recently closed an oversubscribed private placement for approximately C$3.69 million and has applied to the U.S. Defense Industrial Base Consortium for support related to strategic critical minerals.
The broader objective is to discover and define meaningful domestic tungsten resources to contribute to a secure North American critical-mineral supply chain. Western Star's progress since the end of 2025 demonstrates a clear transition from portfolio assembly to execution, with 2026 focused on drilling and resource definition.
