Viromed Medical AG, a medical technology company specializing in cold plasma technology, has announced a global distribution partnership with NEBU-TEC International med. Produkte Eike Kern GmbH. The agreement grants NEBU-TEC exclusive worldwide rights to distribute PulmoPlas® for veterinary applications, combining Viromed's cold plasma technology with NEBU-TEC's nebulization expertise.
The partnership aims to develop new therapeutic options for respiratory diseases, initially focusing on pulmonary conditions in horses. According to the press release, respiratory diseases are widespread among horses, particularly in the European equine market and equestrian sports, creating significant demand for effective treatments. PulmoPlas® vet is slated for market launch later in 2026, and notably, no regulatory approval is required for this veterinary application.
NEBU-TEC, with 30 years of experience in aerosol medicine, develops and manufactures inhalation devices for both human and veterinary medicine. Their devices are classified as Class IIa medical devices under the EU Medical Device Regulation, which also opens the door for future human medical use of PulmoPlas® in combination with NEBU-TEC's nebulizers.
Uwe Perbandt, CEO of Viromed Medical AG, stated: "The partnership with NEBU-TEC represents an important step in the international commercialization of our PulmoPlas® platform. Combining our cold plasma technology with NEBU-TEC's nebulization expertise opens up new fields of application in veterinary medicine and, going forward, also for applications in human medicine." Eike Kern, Managing Director of NEBU-TEC, added: "The combination of inhalative application and cold plasma opens up new therapeutic possibilities. By bringing together complementary technologies, we are creating innovative and safe concepts for the treatment of both animals and humans."
This collaboration marks a strategic expansion for Viromed, strengthening its position in cold plasma technology and laying the groundwork for entering additional international markets. The partnership is expected to accelerate the commercialization of PulmoPlas® and broaden its application scope beyond initial indications.
Viromed Medical AG, listed on the stock exchange since October 2022, focuses on the distribution of cold plasma technology for medical applications through its subsidiary Viromed Medical GmbH.
