The study found that TTX-MC138, when administered systemically, accumulated in metastatic bone lesions, reduced expression of microRNA-10b (miR-10b), and increased expression of the downstream tumor-suppressor target HOXD10. These molecular changes were associated with significant survival benefits in treated animals compared with controls. Importantly, repeated dosing was well tolerated, with no observed systemic toxicity.

The findings are a crucial step in validating TransCode's innovative approach to targeting miR-10b, a well-documented biomarker of metastasis. By using its proprietary oligonucleotide nanotechnology, the company aims to inhibit this microRNA, which is overexpressed in many metastatic tumors.
