Trailbreaker Resources Ltd. (TBK.V) has announced the completion of its maiden drill program at the Highlands Zone and the mobilization of the drill to the Swan Zone at the Company's 100%-owned, 300 km² Atsutla Gold Project in northwestern British Columbia, Canada. The drilling at the Swan Zone targets a copper-gold-silver porphyry system, distinct from the high-grade vein-hosted gold, silver, and copper showings tested at the Highlands Zone, which are 26 kilometers apart and hosted in different geological units.
CEO Daithi Mac Gearailt stated, "The Swan Zone continues to be one of the most compelling targets in Trailbreaker’s portfolio. Over the past five years we have developed this prospect from a new discovery and have added layers of data through systematic exploration." The company has conducted detailed geological mapping, soil geochemical surveys, induced polarization (IP) and airborne magnetic surveys to define the target.
The Swan Zone is a copper-gold-silver porphyry target within the Cretaceous Glundebery batholith. A 1.5 km by 1.5 km multi-element soil geochemical anomaly (Au-Cu-Ag-As-Mo-Sb-Bi) has been defined, with rock grab samples grading up to 11.7 g/t Au, 212 g/t Ag, and 0.81% Cu. This anomaly coincides with a 2.1 km by 1.4 km donut-shaped chargeability high from a 2024 IP survey and a magnetic low signature indicating elevated potassium from 2024 airborne magnetic and radiometric surveys. Despite limited historic drilling in the adjacent valley, the Swan Zone itself has never been drilled.
The diamond drill program will test surface and geophysical anomalies over an estimated strike length of 1,000 meters to a vertical depth exceeding 400 meters. The program aims to improve understanding of mineralization controls and the deposit model at the Swan Zone, supporting future targeted drill campaigns.
Looking ahead, Trailbreaker plans to drill several copper-gold porphyry targets at the Coho property, located 30 km northwest of the Mt. Milligan mine in central BC, in September 2026. For further details, see the May 25, 2026 news release.
The Atsutla Gold Project is centered over the regional Teslin-Thibert fault system, marking the contact between the Quesnel and Cache Creek terranes. Gold mineralization is associated with Mesozoic batholithic intrusions. Since discovery in 2020, Trailbreaker has outlined five significant zones of gold mineralization across 26 kilometers, including the Highlands Zone with veins containing visible gold assaying up to 630 g/t Au and 1,894 g/t Ag, the Christmas Creek Zone with rock samples up to 102 g/t Au and 524 g/t Ag, the Snook Zone with samples up to 53.3 g/t Au, the Willie Jack Zone with soil samples up to 3.77 g/t Au, and the Swan Zone.
