Trailbreaker Resources Ltd. (TBK.V) has announced the completion of its maiden drill program at the Swan Zone, a copper-gold-silver porphyry target within its 100%-owned Atsutla Gold Project in northwestern British Columbia. The drilling is part of a larger program that also tested the Highlands Zone, a high-grade vein-hosted gold target, located 26 kilometers away and hosted in different geological units.
The Swan Zone drill program consisted of two holes totaling 801 meters, targeting a 1.5 km by 1.5 km multi-element soil geochemical anomaly coincident with a 2.1 km by 1.4 km chargeability anomaly. The drilling tested a strike length of 1,000 meters and a vertical extent of 395 meters. The previous Highlands Zone program involved four holes totaling 883.40 meters, testing a strike length of 500 meters and a vertical extent of 412 meters.
A total of 1,000 drill core samples, including standards and blanks, were submitted to Bureau Veritas in Whitehorse, Yukon, for analysis. Assay results will be released after compilation and verification.
Daithi Mac Gearailt, President and CEO of Trailbreaker, commented, "This was a well-executed drill program that provided us with an excellent opportunity to finally test two quality targets that we have been developing for the past five years. This was a first-pass, exploratory program, and we achieved our goals while remaining within budget."
The Atsutla Gold Project is centered over the regional-scale Teslin-Thibert fault system, which marks the contact between the Quesnel and Cache Creek terranes. Gold mineralization is associated with two distinct Mesozoic batholithic intrusions. Since discovery in 2020, Trailbreaker has outlined five significant zones of gold mineralization across a span of 26 kilometers, including the Highlands, Christmas Creek, Snook, Willie Jack, and Swan zones.
The Swan Zone is defined by a 1.5 km by 1.5 km soil geochemical anomaly with rock grab samples grading up to 11.7 g/t gold, 212 g/t silver, and 0.81% copper. The anomaly is coincident with a chargeability high and a magnetic low signature from a 2024 airborne survey.
