The Supervisory Board of Bastei Lubbe AG, a leading independent publishing group in Germany listed on the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has appointed Tina Jurgens as the new Chief Marketing and Sales Officer on the Executive Board. She will assume her role on November 1, 2026, succeeding Sandra Dittert, who departed in July 2026 after six years of service.
Jurgens joins Bastei Lubbe from the ZEBRALUTION Group, a prominent digital distributor for book and audiobook publishers in Germany. Since 2024, she served as Co-CEO, overseeing operational aspects of digital publishing, podcasts, technology, finance, and human resources. Her tenure at ZEBRALUTION began in 2018 as Managing Director, where she established the new business division zebra-audio.net, now known as ZEBRALUTION Podcast. In 2022, she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
Prior to ZEBRALUTION, Jurgens held key roles at major German media companies. After earning a degree in journalism and communication studies, she started her career in 2004 as a product manager at Suddeutsche Zeitung. She later took on senior positions at Axel Springer, Bayerischer Rundfunk, and BRmedia, specializing in marketing and licensing of audio content and developing digital business models.
Carsten Dentler, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, expressed confidence in the appointment: “In Tina Jurgens, we are gaining a proven media expert who combines long-standing experience in content marketing with extensive digital expertise and an entrepreneurial drive to shape the future. She is equally familiar with the traditional book and media business and with digital business models, and is therefore ideally equipped to strategically drive forward the marketing of our content and brands.”
This leadership change comes at a crucial time for Bastei Lubbe, which has been focusing on digital transformation and community-driven business models. The company generates annual revenues exceeding EUR 118 million and owns more than 14 imprints, publishing books, audiobooks, e-books, and periodical novel booklets. Jurgens' background in digital distribution and podcasting is expected to accelerate the company's expansion into digital channels and enhance its brand marketing strategies.
Her predecessor, Sandra Dittert, was credited with contributing to the company's positive development and profitable growth. The Supervisory Board thanked her for her dedication and wished her success in her future endeavors.
Bastei Lubbe AG has been a pioneer in digital media, producing thousands of audio and e-books distributed via all digital exploitation channels. With Jurgens at the helm of marketing and sales, the company aims to leverage her expertise to unlock new potential and strengthen its market position.
