The award is part of Wine Spectator's annual Restaurant Awards, which celebrate the world's best restaurants for wine. This year, 4,012 restaurants received awards across three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence, and the Grand Award. The Italian Barrel earned the Award of Excellence, which requires at least 75 wine selections and a well-chosen assortment of quality producers that match the menu in price and style.
