The Capital Grille Waikiki has announced a new limited-time culinary experience, the Wine & Wagyu Pairing, available from February 23rd through June 28th in the bar and lounge area of its Hawaii location. Priced at $50 per pairing, the offering combines premium Wagyu burgers with wines from the celebrated Dave Phinney portfolio, including Orin Swift and Acolytes labels.
Located in the heart of Waikiki, The Capital Grille is known for its dry-aged steaks and extensive wine program. The new pairing features three Wagyu burger options: The Grille's Wagyu Cheeseburger with grilled onions, steak sauce, and Vermont white cheddar, paired with Orin Swift Advice from John, Merlot; the Wagyu Blue Cheese & Black Truffle Burger with cabernet-braised red onions, paired with Orin Swift Palermo, Cabernet Sauvignon; and the Wagyu Mushroom & Swiss Burger with sautéed shiitake and cremini mushrooms, Jarlsberg cheese, and truffle aioli, which can be paired with Orin Swift 8 Years in the Desert, Zinfandel Blend or Acolytes by OLG, Pinot Noir.
Each burger is served with sea salt fries, and guests may upgrade to a Chips & Caviar option—caramelized onion and caviar dip with housemade chips—for an additional $20. The wine selections are also available by the glass for $30. The Dave Phinney portfolio wines offer tasting notes ranging from blackberry and dark chocolate to ripe cherry and baking spices, providing a sophisticated complement to the Wagyu burgers.
