SS Innovations to Host Global Robotic Surgery Conference SMRSC 2026 in New Delhi

SS Innovations International, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSII), a developer of surgical robotic technologies, announced today that it will host the Global Multi-Specialty Robotic Surgery Conference (SMRSC 2026) in New Delhi, India from April 9-11, 2026. The conference aims to unite global leaders in surgical robotics to discuss innovation and the future of the field, with a focus on making robotic surgery affordable and accessible worldwide.

Attendance at SMRSC 2026 is expected to surpass last year’s event, which drew over 1,400 attendees and 600 virtual participants from 17 nations. Highlights include more than 20 live telesurgeries performed using the SSi Mantra surgical robotic system, spanning multiple specialties such as urology, thoracic, gastroenterology, head & neck, gynecology, colorectal, general, and pediatric surgery. These demonstrations will explore critical aspects of telesurgery, including connectivity, latency management, cybersecurity, and clinical protocols.

Among the innovations showcased will be the SSi MantrAsana Tele Surgeon Console, a compact chair-based version of the surgeon command center that enables portability and telesurgery from settings like physician offices. Additionally, the SSi Vimana Aero Drone System, a drone-deployed trauma surgery system under development, is designed to bring expert robotic surgical care to wounded soldiers in active battle zones. Deployed via a heavy-lift autonomous drone, it lands near casualties and deploys two miniature robotic arms with seven degrees of freedom, operated remotely by a trauma surgeon. The system is equipped with 5mm instruments for procedures such as hemorrhage control, wound repair, chest decompression, shrapnel extraction, and field suturing to stabilize patients until evacuation.

Project Operion will offer an interactive window into the future of surgical robotics, covering enhanced access beyond hospital walls, mobile high-tech surgical infrastructure, and telesurgery integration. The MantraM Mobile Robotic Telesurgery Unit (MantraM bus) will be on display, designed to bring surgical robotic care to underserved patient communities regardless of location.

Distinguished guests include Dr. Fred Moll, Vice-Chairman of SS Innovations and known as the ‘Father of Robotic Surgery’; Sri Madhusudan Sai, a global humanitarian; Dr. Naresh Treahan, Managing Director of Medanta; Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, former Director of the ISRO Satellite Center; and Dr. Ashutosh Tewari, Chairman of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Chairman and CEO of SS Innovations, stated, “We are thrilled to host SMRSC 2026 this week in New Delhi, where global experts will convene to discuss innovation and the future of our field. This year’s event will be our largest and will continue to elevate the theme of decentralizing and democratizing access to surgical robotic care.”
