Joseph Dean DeBarthe is a fourth-generation member of the Community of Christ and holds bachelor's degrees in Business Management and Computer Information Systems from Central Missouri State University. He served more than eight years in the U.S. Navy before continuing his career as a civilian employee of the U.S. military for over two decades, retiring from government service in 2008. Throughout his military and civilian career, DeBarthe lived and traveled extensively across Europe, Asia, Central America, and North America.
