SDR Drone, Inc. (f.k.a. Hallmark Venture Group Inc., OTC: HLLK) is advancing a common technology architecture designed to replace the single-use unmanned aircraft system (UAS) model, according to a press release. The platform, developed over more than three decades by South Korea-based Sundori Drone, supports 13 production models across eight application domains, including tactical operations, wildfire surveillance, agriculture, and heavy-lift logistics. By standardizing the underlying hardware and varying payload and software for each mission, SDR Drone aims to reduce fleet fragmentation and operational costs.

At the heart of the platform is the SDR-ONE integrated motherboard, which combines flight control, controllers, and communications on a single circuit board. This design reduces component count by 40% and production cost by roughly 30% compared to discrete-board designs. The SDR Multi Flight Control System is an AI-enabled architecture that supports autonomous operation, formation flight, collision avoidance, and coordinated fleets. Leader-follower tracking and one-touch controls enable multiple aircraft to fly in various patterns, enhancing mission flexibility.

The commercial and defense drone market is expanding rapidly. South Korea has redirected approximately KRW 3.3 trillion (about $2.14 billion) once earmarked for attack-helicopter programs toward drone procurement and authorized an additional $2.4 billion for drone-related spending. Despite this growth, much of the industry continues to treat unmanned aircraft as single-purpose machines, leading to fragmented fleets that are costly to operate at scale. SDR Drone's approach addresses this by building a common architecture that moves across missions without rebuilding the aircraft.

The technology already serves programs across the Korean Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, and Fire Department and has trained more than 10,000 pilots. By reducing the need for multiple airframes and control systems, the platform promises to lower total cost of ownership and simplify logistics for operators. The company's focus on a unified architecture could have significant implications for defense and commercial drone procurement, potentially shifting the industry away from bespoke, single-mission systems toward adaptable, multi-role platforms.
