Brandenburg, Ph.D., as Chief Technology Officer of its subsidiary Kepler Fusion Technologies, effective immediately. Dr. Brandenburg, a senior plasma physicist with over four decades of experience in fusion energy and advanced propulsion, will lead the technical strategy for commercializing the Texatron aneutronic fusion platform.
Dr. Brandenburg's career includes senior roles at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, The Aerospace Corporation, the Florida Space Institute at Kennedy Space Center, and Orbital Technologies Corporation. His work has involved magnetically confined thermonuclear fusion, inertial confinement fusion, relativistic electron beam physics, and compact fusion propulsion. He holds a Ph.D. in Plasma Physics from the University of California, Davis, and has contributed to national security programs with clearances at the Top Secret and Q levels.
Since 2019, Dr. Brandenburg has served as lead scientist at Kepler Aerospace Ltd. and Kepler Fusion Technologies, playing a central role in developing the Texatron compact toroidal fusion concept. Under his leadership, the company has advanced theoretical research, validated plasma confinement principles, and developed fusion-based clean energy systems.
