Powermax Minerals Inc. (CSE: PMAX) (OTCQB: PWMXF) has kicked off its 2026 exploration program at its 100%-owned Cameron Rare Earth Element (REE) Project in British Columbia, building on encouraging findings from prior campaigns. The three-week program is designed to refine target corridors, identify bedrock sources, and prioritize areas for future trenching and first-pass drilling.
The exploration will integrate geological mapping, prospecting, and sampling of rock, soil, and stream sediments, alongside ground radiometric surveys and comprehensive data analysis. This multi-faceted approach aims to enhance understanding of the project's REE mineralization, which has shown enrichment of both light and heavy rare earth elements across multiple geological units. Previous soil samples returned total rare earth oxide values up to approximately 2,840 ppm, while surface rock samples reached 740 ppm.
The Cameron Project spans 2,984 hectares and benefits from established transportation infrastructure, making it logistically favorable for exploration and potential development. Beyond REEs, the project is also prospective for niobium and other critical minerals, adding to its economic significance.
Powermax Minerals is a Canadian exploration company focused on advancing rare earth element projects. The company holds an option to acquire the Cameron REE Property, which comprises three mineral claims in British Columbia. Additionally, Powermax has options on the Atikokan REE Property and Pinard REE Property in NW Ontario, and owns a 100% interest in the Ogden Bear Lodge Project in Wyoming.
The commencement of this program underscores Powermax's commitment to advancing its REE portfolio amid growing global demand for these critical elements, which are essential for technologies ranging from electric vehicles to renewable energy systems. With the Cameron Project showing promising grades, the results of this campaign could significantly de-risk the project and pave the way for more intensive exploration, potentially positioning Powermax as a notable player in the REE supply chain.
