PFISTERER is significantly expanding its U.S. manufacturing footprint with a $2.7 million investment in its Rochester, New York, facility. The company is adding three CNC lathes, tooling, and related production equipment to increase production capacity for its SICON shearbolt connector components by two and a half times. This move underscores the strategic importance of the North American market, where more than half of PFISTERER's SICON connectors are now sold.
The expansion is a direct response to the rapid growth of data centers in the U.S. and globally, which is driving demand for reliable power connections. SICON connectors are critical for the expansion of power infrastructure, particularly for supplying electricity to data centers. According to the company, SICON connectors are the only ones that meet the Class 2 requirements of the North American standard ANSI C119.4, making them uniquely suited for these high-performance applications. They are also type-tested in accordance with IEC 61238-1, Class A, ensuring secure electrical and mechanical connections.
By localizing production, PFISTERER is implementing its "Local-for-Local" approach, which aims to manufacture products directly in the markets where they are needed. This strategy is expected to shorten delivery times, improve responsiveness to customer needs, and reduce transportation-related emissions. "With the expansion of our production in Rochester, we are taking an important step in our growth strategy for the U.S. market," said Johannes Linden, member and spokesperson of the Executive Board of PFISTERER Holding SE. "We manufacture where our products are needed, thereby strengthening our local presence and enabling us to supply our customers more quickly and flexibly. The investment not only significantly increases our production capacity but also creates additional qualified jobs at the site."
The investment positions Rochester as a central hub in PFISTERER's global production network, enhancing delivery capacity, flexibility, and resilience. As data centers continue to proliferate, the demand for robust and scalable power connections will only grow. PFISTERER's expanded U.S. production capacity will help ensure that critical digital infrastructure can be powered reliably. For more information, visit www.pfisterer.com.
