Ocumetics Advances Vision Restoration Technology with Positive Six-Month Clinical Results and Commencement of Next-Generation Lens Manufacturing

Ocumetics Technology Corp. (TSXV: OTC) (OTCQB: OTCFF) (FRA: 2QBO) announced positive six-month clinical results from its First-in-Human (FIH) study, supporting advancement to Group Two surgeries. The company has commenced manufacturing of its next-generation accommodating intraocular lens at its German partner Amiplant GmbH, and launched a financing initiative to complete the FIH study and accelerate commercialization.

The six-month follow-up data from Group One patients demonstrated encouraging safety and performance outcomes, with successful implantation procedures and favorable post-operative results. Notably, one patient previously considered legally blind is now qualified to drive. These outcomes have provided the foundation for the company to proceed to Group Two surgeries, scheduled for Q3 2026 in Mexico City under Principal Investigator Dr. Raphael Vasquez.

Ocumetics has completed development of its next-generation solid-state accommodating intraocular lens, which incorporates significant advancements in manufacturability, surgical handling, and accommodative performance. The redesigned lens features a one-piece design, eliminating internal interface materials such as air, water, or oil. The company intends to use this lens for Group Two surgeries, delivered with an updated lens delivery system.

All regulatory requirements necessary to proceed to Group Two have been completed. Manufacturing activities include finalization of product verification, sterilization, packaging, and release of clinical inventory. Patient recruitment and surgical scheduling will commence upon completion of manufacturing and product release.

On the commercialization front, Ocumetics continues strategic discussions with four of the world's seven largest ophthalmic companies. Based on encouraging feedback, several organizations have expressed interest in reviewing additional clinical data after Group Two surgeries, with follow-up discussions tentatively scheduled for early Q4 2026 following one-month patient results.

To support these activities, the company has launched a financing initiative, as detailed in a July 7, 2026 news release. Proceeds will fund Group Two surgeries, manufacturing and quality verification of clinical lenses, sterilization and packaging, regulatory programs, and strategic partnership initiatives. Management conducted over 50 one-on-one meetings with institutional investors and strategic industry participants during recent investor conferences.

Ocumetics believes it is entering an important value-creation phase as it advances toward larger clinical studies, regulatory submissions, and eventual commercialization. The company remains focused on completing Group Two surgeries and building strategic relationships to support long-term commercialization of the Ocumetics Lens.
