HAMBURG, GERMANY and CHICAGO, IL - August 4, 2026 - The Nordex Group has announced the acquisition of three new orders in the United States, with a combined capacity exceeding 480 megawatts (MW). The contracts entail the supply of 81 N163/5.X turbines, although the specific customers and project names have not been disclosed.
These projects will be executed according to customer-specific requirements and are set to bolster the Nordex Group's footprint in the U.S. market. The company's CEO for Nordex North America, Manav Sharma, expressed gratitude for the customers' confidence, stating, "These new orders reflect once again the trust our customers place in Nordex and in our ability to deliver and service projects reliably and efficiently. We are grateful for that confidence. Driven by strong customer partnerships, the dedicated execution and service capabilities of our teams, and our robust manufacturing capabilities, we are seeing continued momentum in this region. Our focus remains on delivering value and supporting our customers' long-term energy goals."
The turbines will be manufactured at the Nordex Group's production facility in Iowa, underscoring the company's local manufacturing commitment. This development follows a period of strong performance for the group, which has commissioned over 64 gigawatts (GW) of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets since 1985. In 2025, the company reported consolidated sales of approximately EUR 7.6 billion, and it currently employs over 11,100 people worldwide.
The Nordex Group's product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes, designed to meet the demands of markets with limited space and constrained grid capacity. Its global service network ensures smooth turbine operation. The company is listed on the MDAX and TecDAX of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ISIN: DE000A0D6554).
These new orders arrive at a time when the U.S. wind energy sector is experiencing significant growth, driven by increasing demand for renewable energy and supportive policies. With the addition of these projects, Nordex strengthens its position in a key market, contributing to the country's transition toward cleaner energy sources. The company's ability to secure large-scale orders reflects its competitive edge in technology, manufacturing, and service, as well as its reputation for reliability.
The announcement also highlights the importance of domestic manufacturing in the wind industry, as the Iowa plant will play a central role in fulfilling these contracts. This not only supports local jobs but also ensures efficient logistics and quality control. As the global push for renewable energy intensifies, Nordex's latest achievements underscore its commitment to helping customers meet their sustainability targets.
While the specific details of the projects remain under wraps, the scale of the orders signals robust market confidence and sets a positive tone for the company's future prospects in the region. With a strong pipeline and continued innovation, Nordex is poised to remain a key player in the U.S. wind energy landscape.
