MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) announced the acquisition of provincial permits covering an additional 660,263 acres (2,672 square kilometers) across south-central Saskatchewan, increasing its total permitted holdings by more than 50% to approximately 2 million acres across 12 projects. This expansion underscores the company's aggressive strategy to secure a dominant position in the emerging natural hydrogen sector in Canada.
The newly acquired permits include the 628-square-kilometer Aurora Project adjoining the Lawson Complex, creating a contiguous 90-kilometer corridor with potential for multiple natural hydrogen discoveries and commercialization pathways. This corridor is strategically located near highway, rail, heavy industry, and emerging artificial intelligence infrastructure, which could facilitate future hydrogen production and distribution. The company also added the Ogema and Kyle projects, expanded the Grasslands Project through the Fox Valley target area, and secured additional permits at Lawson, Radville, and Tribune.
Commercial-validation drilling continues at Lawson Complex #1, which is Canada’s first confirmed subsurface natural hydrogen system. The company, along with independent consultant GLJ Ltd., is completing reviews of data from the newly permitted areas to prioritize future drill targets. The expansion follows a systematic approach to building a district-scale land position, reflecting the company's commitment to exploring for large-volume accumulations of natural hydrogen as a clean energy source.
MAX Power CEO highlighted the significance of the expansion, noting that the company now holds approximately 2 million acres of permits in Saskatchewan. The company's focus on natural hydrogen aligns with global decarbonization goals, as natural hydrogen is considered a potential low-carbon energy resource. The Lawson discovery has been validated by three independent labs, confirming the presence of hydrogen through deep drilling.
In addition to its hydrogen projects, MAX Power maintains a portfolio of critical mineral properties in the United States and Canada, including the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in Arizona, where a 2024 diamond drilling discovery was made. The company emphasizes responsible exploration practices, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
