Liberty Puerto Rico has announced a new partnership with the Hispanic Information Telecommunications Network (HITN) to bring Edye, HITN's award-winning preschool content ecosystem, to Liberty TV customers across the island. Starting this week, subscribers can add Edye to any television package for just $2.99 per month, gaining access to a safe, ad-free Spanish-language platform designed for children ages two to six. The service will be available as an à la carte option within Liberty's entertainment packages and accessible through Liberty Go, the company's exclusive app for mobile devices and tablets, as well as through the standalone Edye app on the App Store and Google Play.
Edye's programming is curated to nurture curiosity, imagination, and the small moments of discovery that come with growing up, featuring beloved characters such as Daniel Tiger, Pocoyo, Paw Patrol, and Molang. The platform offers more than 2,500 episodes across over 70 preschool series, along with games and parent guides designed to extend learning beyond screen time. By integrating Edye into its offerings, Liberty is reinforcing its position as the island's leading provider of broadband internet, video, telephone, and wireless services, while also addressing a growing demand for trustworthy children's content.
“Puerto Rico has always been a core part of our audience, and this partnership lets us reach families wherever they are,” said Eric Turpin, General Manager of HITN. “Edye was created to give parents peace of mind and offer children content that supports their development. Bringing this experience to Liberty customers means even more families on the Island can turn screen time into family connection time.” This sentiment was echoed by Quique Vivas, Chief Consumer Officer at Liberty, who stated, “Adding Edye to our lineup is part of our commitment to bringing Puerto Rican families the best in entertainment and education, all in one place. Our customers are always looking for content they can trust for their little ones, and Edye is exactly that. We're very happy and proud to be able to offer this high-quality platform to our customers.”
The addition of Edye is significant for several reasons. First, it addresses a critical need for Spanish-language educational content in Puerto Rico, where many families seek to preserve their linguistic and cultural heritage while providing their children with quality programming. Second, it underscores a broader trend in the media industry toward niche, subscription-based services that offer curated, ad-free experiences for young audiences. As parents become increasingly concerned about screen time and online safety, platforms like Edye provide a controlled environment that supports early childhood development.
Edye, which has been available for more than seven years in Spanish and Portuguese across major digital platforms and pay-TV operators in the United States and Latin America, including Brazil, has already established a strong reputation among parents and educators. Its expansion through Liberty Puerto Rico marks a strategic move to deepen its presence in a key market. For Liberty, the partnership enhances its content portfolio, offering a differentiator in a competitive telecommunications landscape where family-friendly programming can be a decisive factor for subscribers.
Moreover, this collaboration highlights the importance of partnerships between content creators and service providers in expanding access to educational resources. By bundling Edye with its TV packages at an affordable price point, Liberty is making premium educational content accessible to a wider demographic, potentially bridging gaps in early childhood education. As the demand for quality children's programming continues to grow, this move positions both HITN and Liberty as leaders in delivering value-added services that prioritize child development and family engagement.
