LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) has announced the appointment of Andrew Elinesky as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Elinesky, who brings over two decades of senior executive and financial leadership experience, most recently served as president and CEO of Sabre Gold Mines Corp., which was acquired in February 2025. In his new role, he will oversee corporate strategy, capital markets, financing, and investor relations. Paul Ténière, the former CEO, will continue as president and a director, focusing on the company's technical and operational activities.
The leadership change comes as LaFleur Minerals advances due diligence with Trafigura Canada Limited regarding a proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangement. Representatives from Trafigura and company management completed a two-day site visit to the Beacon Gold Mill and Swanson Gold Project on August 10-11. During the visit, they inspected the mill and process circuits, reviewed recommissioning progress, and examined the ongoing diamond drilling program at the Swanson Deposit. While the company notes that there is no assurance definitive agreements will be reached, the continued progress signals potential strategic partnerships that could provide financial flexibility and market access for its gold production.
The Beacon Gold Mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, is central to LaFleur's development plans. The company intends to use the mill to process mineralized material from its Swanson Gold Project and to offer custom milling services to other nearby gold projects. The Swanson Gold Project, located in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d'Or, Québec, comprises 481 claims and one mining lease covering 200.7 square kilometers. It includes several gold and critical metals prospects previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining.
LaFleur recently released a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project, which includes the planned restart of the Beacon Gold Mill. The PEA is preliminary in nature and includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the results of the PEA will be realized.
The appointment of Elinesky brings seasoned leadership to guide LaFleur through its next phase of growth. His experience in capital markets and corporate strategy will be instrumental as the company seeks to finance its development plans and potentially secure a significant offtake agreement with Trafigura, one of the world's leading commodity trading firms. The successful completion of due diligence could provide LaFleur with upfront capital and a guaranteed market for its gold doré, reducing project risk and enhancing its financial position.
Investors and industry observers will be watching closely as LaFleur continues to advance its projects and corporate initiatives. The company's strategic focus on the Abitibi Gold Belt, a world-class mining jurisdiction, positions it well to capitalize on the region's rich mineral potential.
