Jones & Swanson Welcomes First Female Attorney, Ella J. Mitchell

Jones & Swanson, a Marietta-based personal injury law firm with more than 50 years of combined legal experience, has announced the addition of Ella J. Mitchell to its legal team, making her the first female attorney in the firm's history. This milestone marks a new chapter for the firm as it continues to grow while maintaining its commitment to personalized client service and experienced advocacy for injured individuals and families across Georgia.

The firm's leadership expressed enthusiasm about Mitchell's arrival, noting that her background as an insurance defense attorney provides her with unique insight into how the other side evaluates and defends claims. This perspective is expected to enhance the firm's ability to represent plaintiffs effectively in personal injury cases.

Mitchell, a Marietta native, brings a deep connection to the community she serves. She attended Mount Paran Christian School and earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of Georgia in Political Science and International Affairs. She graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2025, where she served on the editorial board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law, was Treasurer of the Georgia Student Trial Lawyers Association, and participated in the Criminal Defense Practicum.

Before joining Jones & Swanson, Mitchell practiced insurance defense, an experience that she says now informs her approach to representing injured individuals. "Personal injury law is about more than the legal process," Mitchell said. "It is about the people behind each case. I value getting to know my clients, understanding what they have been through, and helping them navigate what can be an overwhelming process."

The addition of Mitchell comes as Jones & Swanson continues to build on its reputation in the Georgia legal community. The firm has earned more than 500 Google reviews with a 5.0 rating and has reported millions of dollars recovered on behalf of clients, including significant results in cases involving automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, trucking accidents, and other serious injury claims.

For the firm, Mitchell's arrival is about more than adding another lawyer; it represents an opportunity to bring a new voice and perspective to a team that has spent decades advocating for people during difficult times. As a lifelong Marietta resident, Mitchell expressed gratitude for the chance to serve the community that helped shape her. "I am grateful to live and work in a community I have called home for so many years, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the people who make it such a special place," she said.

Jones & Swanson handles a wide range of personal injury matters, including car and truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, catastrophic injuries, pedestrian accidents, slip and fall cases, dog bites, wrongful death, and other injury claims. The firm emphasizes individualized representation, taking time to understand each client's circumstances rather than treating clients like case numbers. With offices in Marietta and Cartersville, the firm serves clients throughout the surrounding Georgia communities, including Kennesaw, Acworth, Woodstock, Mableton, Sandy Springs, Dallas, and Roswell.

This historic addition reflects a broader trend in the legal profession toward diversity and inclusion, signaling a positive shift for firms like Jones & Swanson that are committed to evolving while preserving their core values.
