InnoEX and Hong Kong Electronics Fair Spring Edition Draw Over 88,000 Buyers, Highlighting AI and Robotics as Growth Drivers

InnoEX, jointly organised by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and the HKTDC’s Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) (EFSE) concluded today after a four-day run, drawing over 88,000 buyers from 155 countries and regions. The events, held concurrently, underscored Hong Kong's position as a key connector between mainland China and global markets, with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics technologies.

The exhibitions align with China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and Hong Kong’s latest Budget, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and market applications driven by AI. A notable feature was the newly launched RoboPark, which showcased over 100 robots from Hong Kong, mainland China, and overseas. UBTECH, the world’s first humanoid robot company listed in Hong Kong and a top five global vendor, reported engagement with potential buyers from mainland China, the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia, with results exceeding expectations.

InnoEX concentrated on five key areas: AI+, Robotics, Low-altitude Economy, Property Technology, and Retail Technology. The fair attracted exhibitors from 21 countries and regions, including the UK Pavilion and Macao Pavilion. Exhibitors from the Macao Pavilion alone held over 280 business meetings in the first three days. Major participants included Huawei, China Mobile Hong Kong, HKT, and Lenovo. Huawei concurrently hosted its Hong Kong Tech Week 2026, exploring AI+ applications across sectors.

The Chinese Mainland pavilions represented 17 provinces and municipalities. The Zhongguancun Beijing Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation Center, a returning participant, reported strong interest from Brazil, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, and the Middle East on the first day alone.

The EFSE featured three major areas: Smart Home & Solutions, Health Tech & Gadgets, and Pet Intelligence, with around 60 products launched for the first time. HelloBaby, a local company specializing in baby monitors, showcased its latest product. Sales Director Qin Zhihui noted the exhibition’s international character, with buyers mainly from Japan, Korea, Singapore, and other Asian markets.

Carmate Electronics Pty Ltd, an Australian manufacturer of automotive electronics, recorded potential transactions of around US$200,000 on the first day and expects follow-up orders of US$400,000 to US$500,000. General Manager Michael Lin highlighted Hong Kong’s unique role as an international platform amid heightened China-US tensions, confirming the company’s participation next year.

Buyers also gained insights into industry trends. Pari Jazz, a buyer from Germany-based P.J Global Way Management Ltd, arranged around 12 business meetings, engaging with exhibitors from Hong Kong, mainland China, and Denmark, and identified two to three potential partners.

Over 100 events with more than 260 speakers shared the latest industry trends. Sessions included ‘From +AI to AI+: Enhancing Workplace Performance’ co-organized by the Hong Kong Computer Society, and the first ‘Low-altitude Economy Development Conference’ co-organized with the Working Group on Developing Low-altitude Economy and the Greater Bay Area Low-altitude Economy Alliance. Another highlight was the seminar ‘Embodied AI in Robotics: The Dawn of Autonomy,’ featuring speakers from Xi’an Jiaotong University and AI2 Robotics.

Surveys conducted during the fairs revealed that 81% of respondents are interested in expanding into emerging markets, including Europe, ASEAN, mainland China, and Latin America. 78% of respondents indicated their companies have explored or adopted generative AI technologies. Among InnoEX respondents, 42% applied or plan to apply generative AI to sales and customer communications, 40% to data analysis and reporting, and 39% to product design and R&D. At EFSE, 59% of respondents expect overall sales revenue to increase in the next one to two years, and 33% believe consumers are willing to pay a premium of 11% to 20% for products supporting smart home or AI applications.
