At HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai, Huawei Cloud unveiled a comprehensive suite of enterprise AI products designed to build what it calls an "open agentic cloud." The announcements, led by Dr. Peter Zhou, Director of the Board at Huawei and CEO of Huawei Cloud, underscore the company's strategic pivot toward infrastructure and platforms optimized for AI agents—autonomous software entities that can perform tasks traditionally requiring human intervention. The move matters because it signals a maturation of enterprise AI from experimental pilots to production-grade deployments, with Huawei positioning itself as a full-stack provider.
Central to the launch is the latest AI Cluster Service (AICS), which will be commercially available in China on September 30 and in international markets on November 30. AICS is built on a five-level fast recovery mechanism with full-chain observability, supporting over 40 days of stable training on cloud and fault recovery within 10 minutes. It delivers 20% higher token throughput than the previous generation, a critical metric as enterprises scale AI workloads. The service aims to make every token more efficient and ensure agents run securely in real production environments. Complementing AICS is the Context Memory Storage (CMS) solution, which addresses the memory capacity and access efficiency needs of long-horizon agent tasks. CMS provides petabyte-scale memory space—twice the storage capacity of comparable industry products—and supports high-speed terabyte-scale memory reads with 50% higher performance than industry peers. This is crucial for agents that must retain context over extended interactions, a common bottleneck in enterprise deployments.
On the platform side, Huawei Cloud highlighted its Agentic Model as a Service (MaaS), which brings together diverse models, enabling developers to invoke state-of-the-art models from leading providers with one click and no deployment required. MiniMax demonstrated its advanced multimodal model integrated with Huawei Cloud, showcasing open, cutting-edge capabilities. The AgentArts enterprise-grade agent platform, along with its open-source edition openJiuwen, opens up more than 5,000 general Model Context Protocol (MCP) assets and over 1,000 industry-specific MCP assets. AgentArts has already served over 100 customers, including the Shenzhen Longgang District Government, China Southern Power Grid, and Kingsoft Office. Kingsoft Office shared how it built vertical office agents by integrating the platform with WPS 365 Document Center and WPS Comate, now deployed across finance and government sectors. AgentArts will be commercially available outside China on December 30, and the openJiuwen community has surpassed 50,000 stars and 3.29 million downloads.
The Industry AI Foundry, which aggregates industry scenarios, models, data, knowledge, and agents, has accumulated more than 1,000 industry assets and over 1,000 deployed projects. It now includes five industry-specific zones—Smart Healthcare, Embodied AI, AI for Science, Smart Manufacturing, and Smart Finance—and has added two new zones: Smart Government and AI Hardware. The Smart Government Zone has 24 founding partners covering government operations, public services, and urban governance, while the AI Hardware Zone has onboarded 15 core partners covering over 20 device types, including AI glasses, AI toys, and AI recording cards.
These efforts collectively aim to build an open ecosystem where infrastructure, platforms, and industry solutions interoperate.
