HKTDC Twin Jewellery Shows to Feature World's Largest One-Stop Marketplace and New Hard Pure Gold Pavilion

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will host the world's largest one-stop jewellery marketplace in early March, operating under its established 'Two Shows, Two Venues' format. The 12th Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show runs from 2 to 6 March at AsiaWorld-Expo, focusing on raw materials, while the 42nd Hong Kong International Jewellery Show takes place from 4 to 8 March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, showcasing finished pieces. Together, they will bring together some 4,000 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions, with 70% coming from outside Hong Kong. Jenny Koo, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasized that the twin shows highlight Hong Kong's status as an international trade capital and jewellery sourcing hub.

The global jewellery market has shown robust growth, with Hong Kong's export volume of premium jewellery to ASEAN surging 51% year-on-year, and exports to the United Kingdom, Australia, and Switzerland growing 36%, 28%, and 10% respectively. The twin shows feature more than 40 themed pavilions, including a new Hard Pure Gold Pavilion debuted by the World Gold Council. This pavilion hosts 11 exhibitors from Chinese Mainland, showcasing innovative gold craftsmanship and hard pure gold technology, which enables lighter, more durable designs with modern aesthetics. The pavilion aims to leverage the fairs as a springboard for international expansion.

International brands are in the spotlight at the Hall of Fame, which returns with a 40% expansion in scale. Turkish diamond jewellery brand Zen Diamond (Booth: CEC 3B-C12) will present diamond ring collections with exquisite cutting techniques. At the Hall of Extraordinary, Hong Kong exhibitor Continental Diamond Company (Booth: CEC GH-C07) showcases an 18K white and rose gold ring set with blue and light pink diamonds. Another Hong Kong exhibitor, Unique Brilliant Ltd (Booth: CEC GH-C13), unveils a necklace and earring set featuring rubies of 'pigeon blood red' colour.

Oriental aesthetics are highlighted through cultural heritage craftsmanship. Chinese Mainland exhibitor Guangdong JIABAO Pavilion Jewellery (Hong Kong) Company Ltd (Booth: CEC GH-A16) presents an 18K gold handmade filigree butterfly brooch, a national intangible heritage craft that takes over four months to complete. Shenzhen Meifei Precious Metals Co Ltd (Booth: CEC 3E-E02) brings a 'Palatial Modern Chinese Style' jewellery series incorporating six traditional gold techniques. A seminar organised by the World Gold Council will examine the latest developments in the global gold market and hard pure gold technology.

Creative design sets trends with innovative products like Austy Lee Company Ltd's (Booth: CEC 1E-F32) zebra-pattern bangles for the Year of the Horse. The Designer Galleria welcomes new exhibitor Zheng Hong Collective (Booth: CEC 1CON-067A), featuring a brooch with movable wings and tail. The 27th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition, themed 'Pure Elegance – Natural Beauty', nurtures creative talent among local students and professionals.

Rare treasures abound, including a 1970s Buccellati pink sapphire suite from Baroque Antique & Jewellery Limited (Booth: CEC CH-F13) and an 18.98-carat AGL-certified natural pink sapphire from German exhibitor Caram e.K. (Booth: AWE 8-F05). The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show will host a seminar titled 'The Origins of Style: Tracing the Imprint of Time and Craftsmanship' featuring British historian Dr. Jack Ogden.

Over 20 forums will cover hot topics such as AI and digital marketing. A session will examine how artificial intelligence moves from design to commercialisation, and influencers will share strategies to leverage e-commerce platforms. The HKTDC has partnered with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to provide exclusive buyer privileges, including dining, air tickets, and hotels, and will arrange free shuttle bus services between AsiaWorld-Expo and urban areas. The shows use the EXHIBITION+ hybrid format, with AI-powered 'Click2Match' providing online business-matching from 23 February to 13 March, and 'Scan2Match' enabling continued discussions after the show. Buyers can register via the HKTDC Marketplace App for an eBadge to reduce queuing times.
