The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) opened its 36th Food Expo, along with the Beauty & Wellness Expo and Home Delights Expo, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre today. Running concurrently from 13 to 17 August, the fairs bring together over 1,850 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions, creating a vibrant marketplace that spans food, tea, home living, beauty, and wellness sectors.
Under the central theme of 'Live Well. Stay Well,' the fairs feature five themed days designed to encourage healthy and fulfilling lifestyles. The first day, 'Happy Eat Happy Life,' promotes balanced nutrition and healthy living, with products such as cistanche health drink, ready-to-eat bird's nest, and organic dried blueberries. The Home Delights Expo showcases a high-speed food processor for texture-modified meals, while the Beauty & Wellness Expo offers complimentary health assessments.
The second themed day, 'The World in Blink,' focuses on visual enjoyment, featuring global delicacies like South African honey, Finnair's inflight chocolates, and Chiu Chow style foie gras toast. Asian flavours include pandan chiffon cakes from Singapore and Karun Thai tea. The Beauty & Wellness Expo presents innovative beauty devices and clear aligners.
'Coffee or Tea?' on 15 August highlights the dedicated Coffee Zone with Yunnan and Myanmar coffees, and the Hong Kong International Tea Fair featuring rare teas, including purple bud Pu'er and ceremonial-grade matcha. New zones include the Yixing Zisha Teaware Pavilion and a 'Tea Lifestyle' area with innovative tea beverages.
The fourth day, 'Stay Fresh, Stay Ahead,' focuses on premium fresh produce. Hong Kong's Fish Marketing Organization and Vegetable Marketing Organization introduce their new unified brand, 'Hong Kong Harvest.' The Gourmet Zone celebrates its 15th edition with 15 star chefs demonstrating exquisite dishes.
The final day, 'Let's Chill,' introduces the 'Stay Relax' zone in the Beauty & Wellness Expo, featuring red-light therapy pods, and the 'Go Sleep Exp' in the Home Delights Expo, exploring sleep health. The Food Expo debuts a Dessert and Gelato Theme with over 100 desserts.
For trade visitors, Food Expo PRO introduces a 'Meat Zone' and 'Food Science and Technology Zone' focusing on alternative foods. It also includes pet food products and a halal food label, with over 130 exhibitors.
The International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM) also commenced, expanded to three days, focusing on 'Clinical Translation, Regulatory Policies and Global Innovative Pathways of Traditional Medicine,' with over 30 speakers from around the world.
