Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. (CSE:GCC) (OTC:GCCFF) announced that independent consultants are completing the company's inaugural Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property, located northeast of Hixon, British Columbia. The MRE will provide the first formal quantification of gold mineralization outlined through the company's drilling, exploration, and geological modeling programs, including historical data. The company expects to release the final MRE upon receipt of the independent NI 43-101 technical report.
This development marks a critical juncture for Golden Cariboo as it transitions from exploration to resource definition. The MRE will consolidate all prior work into a single independent model, offering a comprehensive technical snapshot of the project. According to President and CEO Frank Callaghan, this milestone represents a significant step toward the next phase of development. "Every drill hole, every assay result and every geological breakthrough has expanded our understanding of the Halo, North Hixon and Main zones. We are now approaching the point where all of that work will be consolidated into a single independent resource model," Callaghan stated.
The Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property is strategically located along a favorable geological corridor adjacent to the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults, covering a 94,899-hectare area. It is bordered by Osisko Development's Cariboo Gold Project and lies within a historical placer gold trend that has produced from over 101 creeks. The property includes the Quesnelle Quartz gold-silver deposit, discovered in 1865, and is situated in a geological setting similar to the Spanish Mountain gold deposit, a sediment-hosted vein (SHV) deposit located 120 kilometers southeast. SHV deposits belong to the epizonal orogenic subclass, which includes world-class deposits like Muruntau in Uzbekistan and Bendigo in Australia.
The imminent MRE is expected to provide clarity on the project's economic potential, which could influence Golden Cariboo's market valuation and its ability to secure financing for further development. For investors, this represents a de-risking event, as an independent resource estimate is a foundational step toward feasibility studies and eventual production. The announcement also highlights the growing interest in British Columbia's gold-rich Cariboo region, where modern exploration is building on a legacy of placer mining.
Golden Cariboo's Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property has been the focus of targeted drilling and trenching programs, with results that have consistently expanded known mineralization. The company's exploration efforts have been bolstered by historical data and modern geological modeling, providing a robust basis for the upcoming MRE. As the company awaits the final technical report, stakeholders are optimistic that the resource estimate will confirm the project's significance and pave the way for future growth.
