DownTown Mystic Releases 'On E Street Remix' EP Featuring E Street Band's Max Weinberg and Garry Tallent

Sha-La Music has announced the release of the On E Street Remix EP by US Roots Rocker DownTown Mystic on April 3. The EP features the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame rhythm section from Bruce Springsteen's legendary E Street Band—drummer "Mighty" Max Weinberg and bassist Garry Tallent. Distributed worldwide by The Orchard/Sony Music, the EP drops at Non-Com/College Radio on April 7 with Brandon Day/Tinderbox Music handling radio promotion.

The On E Street Remix EP contains six tracks, including the thought-provoking "Way To Know," the emotionally intense "And You Know Why," and the lead single "Hard Enough." The single has garnered substantial airplay on Worldwide Radio, and its video has surpassed 550,000 views on YouTube. Also included is the explosive "Sometimes Wrong," remastered by Leon Zervos (Pink, Crowded House), and the brand new instrumental "And You Know Why (TV Mix)." What makes this release extra special is Weinberg and Tallent recording together as the rhythm section for an artist other than Bruce Springsteen—a true rarity.

DownTown Mystic writer/producer Robert Allen's main goal for the EP was to give the tracks a fresh sound and showcase the brilliance of the two E Streeters. The backstory adds historical weight: the recordings were made during the same period Weinberg and Tallent were shaping one of the most influential albums in rock history, Born In The USA. Robert and engineer Joe DeMaio revisited this pivotal moment, remixing the tracks at Shorefire Studios, where they were originally recorded. Robert recalls, "I was trying to develop as a solo artist when we made these recordings. The experience of playing with Max & Garry changed everything for me."

The On E Street Remix EP arrives as DownTown Mystic rides a creative roll with releases that bring an old-school sound to modern rock. His motto "vintage yet modern" is gaining respect in music circles. The artist's run began in 2023 with the AmeriKarma album, which attracted over 3 million streams, followed by RnR 4 The Soul (2024), The Wish (2025), and Mystic Highway (2025). Music supervisors discovered his music through "Way To Know," launching a sync-licensing career with over 250 TV shows, starting with The Voice. Sync success peaked in 2025 with three songs placed in two star-filled movies—Sovereign and Everything's Going To Be Great.

The new EP should solidify DownTown Mystic's critical success. Robert adds, "If you want to make a rock'n'roll statement then who better to do it with? I think E Street is probably the most famous street in rock'n'roll history." Listen to the EP at https://tinyurl.com/3ahvmu9w.
