Co-Diagnostics (NASDAQ: CODX) announced that its Indian joint venture, CoSara Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd., has signed an agreement to expand its commercial and distribution territory across South Asia. The expansion includes Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, significantly increasing its addressable market to an estimated $13.0 billion. This strategic move supports the planned commercialization of the CoSara PCR Pro(R) point-of-care platform and SARAGENE(R) product line, subject to regulatory approvals, as the company builds regional distribution channels and positions for broader deployment of its molecular diagnostics solutions.
The expansion into these densely populated countries offers a substantial opportunity for Co-Diagnostics to address unmet needs in infectious disease testing and molecular diagnostics. The South Asian region has faced significant healthcare challenges, including a high burden of tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis, and emerging infectious diseases. By establishing distribution networks in these nations, CoSara aims to provide affordable and accessible diagnostic tools that can improve patient outcomes and support public health initiatives.
The agreement comes as Co-Diagnostics continues to advance its proprietary technologies. The CoSara PCR Pro platform is designed for point-of-care use, enabling rapid and accurate testing outside of traditional laboratory settings. The SARAGENE product line includes a range of molecular diagnostic assays that leverage the company's patented technology for high sensitivity and specificity. These products are expected to be particularly valuable in resource-limited settings where access to sophisticated laboratory infrastructure is limited.
Co-Diagnostics, Inc., a Utah corporation, develops, manufactures, and markets state-of-the-art diagnostics technologies.
