The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) has announced that its original documentary Chatsworth Through Time will be released on public television stations across the United States in August 2026. The program, produced by the ICAA, delves into the history, architecture, landscape, and artworks of Chatsworth, one of the most renowned estates in Great Britain, located in the Peak District National Park. For 500 years, Chatsworth has been home to the Devonshire family, and the documentary traces its evolution from the Tudor Period to the 21st century, highlighting renovations and expansions that reflect changing political developments, social realities, and styles.
Hosted by Chatsworth's senior curators, the documentary features an extended interview with the current Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. It provides unparalleled access to the estate's extraordinary collection of historically significant architecture, fine craftsmanship, and rare artworks accumulated over seventeen generations. ICAA president Peter Lyden remarked, "It was an honor at the ICAA to work with the Chatsworth House Trust, providing a unique opportunity to thoroughly explore the story of a house rich in architectural and artistic history. By opening the house's archives and hearing directly from the Duke of Devonshire, Chatsworth Through Time provides unprecedented insight into the legendary estate."
The documentary's national distribution is facilitated by the American Public Television (APT), a leading syndicator of programming to public television stations.
