Angkor Resources Begins Diamond Drilling at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) has commenced a 2,800-meter diamond drilling program at the Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia, with the first phase of three 400-meter holes starting June 24, 2026. The program targets the Thmei North (TN) copper anomaly, a one-square-kilometer area identified through prior exploration. The drilling is strategically planned around Cambodia's seasonal weather patterns, with the initial phase conducted during the current dry season and the remaining 1,600 meters scheduled for early 2027 once fields are dry and crops harvested.

The decision to drill eastward is based on 2025 drilling results, which revealed that mineralized structures strike north-northwest and dip steeply west. By orienting holes to the east, the company aims to intersect mineralized beds perpendicularly, maximizing core samples through potassic-altered sediments adjacent to feldspar porphyry diorite dikes. According to VP Exploration Dennis Ouellette, this approach targets the best copper mineralization found in these altered sediments, which are interspersed with intrusive dikes of varying widths. The company will log, photograph, and sample core intervals, with selected samples dispatched for assay as the program progresses.

The Andong Bor license spans 100.28 square kilometers across Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces. Beyond Thmei North, the Thmei South target requires additional auger soil geochemistry to extend the copper anomaly southward, with future drill programs planned there. This announcement underscores Angkor's commitment to advancing its Cambodian mineral portfolio, which includes two exploration licenses with multiple copper and gold prospects. The company's energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources, is also progressing onshore oil and gas exploration in Block VIII under a Production Sharing Contract, having completed 2D seismic in 2025 and identified multiple drill targets.

The drill program represents a key step in delineating the resource potential at Andong Bor, a project that could contribute to Cambodia's emerging mining sector. As a leading resource explorer in the country, Angkor's activities are closely watched by investors and industry stakeholders. The company's technical approach, informed by prior drilling and geological modeling, aims to de-risk the project and provide data for future resource estimation. With the first phase underway, results from these holes will guide subsequent exploration and potentially expand the known mineralization footprint.
