Andina Copper Reports High-Grade Porphyry Mineralization at Cobrasco Project

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) reported drillhole CDH006 from the Cobrasco Project in Chocó, Colombia, intersected 486 meters at 0.42% copper and 51 ppm molybdenum, including a higher-grade interval of 232 meters at 0.68% copper and 75 ppm molybdenum from 38 meters depth. This step-out hole was collared approximately 400 meters northwest of previous drill pads and confirms the northwest extension of the Cobrasco Central mineralization system.

The drill program continues to expand the known mineralization footprint, which now covers a lateral extent of approximately 950 by 525 meters within the upper 600 meters and remains open in all directions. Two additional step-out holes, CDH007 and CDH008, have been completed from the same drill platform, with assays pending. President and CEO Joseph van den Elsen stated, “Every scout drillhole completed to-date has intersected significant intervals of Cu-Mo mineralization, further extending the mineralization footprint.”

Drillhole CDH006 was collared at azimuth 225° and dip -60°, reaching a depth of 898.90 meters. Mineralization commenced at 38 meters within weathered saprolite and continued through rhyodacitic porphyries to a faulted contact at 808 meters. The upper 46 meters are strongly weathered, with a low-angle fault structure introducing high copper and molybdenum grades, including sample G517536 at 46-48 meters grading 4.6% copper and 1495 ppm molybdenum. Hydrothermal alteration progresses from strong argillic in the upper portions to phyllic and grey-green-sericite (GGS) alteration associated with the bulk of mineralization.

Structural controls are evident, with shearing and brecciation enhancing permeability and mineralization. A magmatic brecciation zone from 38 to 270 meters contains the high-grade interval of 232 meters at 0.68% copper. At depth, a faulted contact at 808 meters marks the end of magmatic-hydrothermal brecciation and the start of a polymictic intrusive breccia with lower mineralization. Sporadic mineralized intervals continue to the end of the hole, such as sample G543022 at 894-896 meters grading 0.48% copper and 58 ppm molybdenum.

The company plans to continue systematic scout drilling to define the limits of mineralization, which remains open in all directions. A new program of surface mapping and geochemical sampling is being prepared, and a second drill rig will be mobilized to support definition of new targets and in-fill drilling.
