With a quarter of U.S. adults living with a disability, according to the CDC, and a Department of Justice rule requiring state and local governments to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards by April 2027, event accessibility has become a pressing compliance issue for the events industry. Registration is now open for the Accessible Events Show USA, the only event in the country dedicated entirely to accessibility in the events industry, taking place on December 4. The DOJ mandate extends beyond government entities to the vendors and contractors that serve them, meaning many event professionals must now treat accessibility as a legal requirement rather than just a values statement. The Accessible Events Show launched in London in 2025, drawing 600 delegates from over 15 countries and earning the EN Awards Diversity & Inclusion Award and a Silver at the Cool Event Awards for Disruptor Attitude—rare honors for a debut event.
